Wells of Hope started in Uganda, where it has been in existence since 2002 up to date, changing lives of Prisoners ,Children with imprisoned parents, and Caretakers of Children with imprisoned parents mainly mothers and grandmothers.

In 2016,Wells of Hope using the Wells of Hope Triangle model started work  partnering with Christian community based organizations in the following countries:

  • Kenya
  • Tanzania

 Wells of Hope in Other Nations

Having started in Uganda in 2002 Wells of Hope Ministries  started  working in  the East African nations of Kenya and Tanzania as well.
Wells of Hope Ministries work in Kenya  includes:

  • Providing educational support to children with incarcerated parents through payment of Tuition fees, provision of scholastic materials e.g. Books, Pencils, pens, school Uniforms, Shoes, and sanitary pads for the girls.
  • Facilitating Family prison visitation in Kenya.
  • Conducting camps for children with Incarcerated parents in Kenya and Tanzania.
  • Providing spiritual and moral discipleship in the prisons in Kenya
  • Reaching out to families of people in prisons through visitations and facilitating support groups.

Wells of Hope Ministries work in Tanzania includes:

  • Providing educational support to children with incarcerated parents through payment of  provision of scholastic materials e.g. Books, Pencils, pens, school Uniforms, Shoes, and sanitary pads for the girls.
  • Advocacy and lobbying to help children communicate with their parents in prison .(Currently in Tanzania , Children are not allowed to visit their parents in prisons not until they make 18 years. Their parents are not allowed to write to them or even receive letters from the children). Wells of Hope is helping to influence the government change that.
  • Conducting camps for children with Incarcerated parents in Tanzania.
  • Providing spiritual and moral discipleship in the prisons in Tanzania
  • Reaching out to families of people in prisons through visitations and facilitating support groups.
