Agnes is a friendly, 15 year old girl at Wells of Hope Junior School. Her favorite subjects are English and Mathematics. Her favorite dish is rice and beef. Agnes’ dream is to become an accountant in future.

She has three siblings; a sister and two brothers. One of her brothers is under the Wells of Hope Care and Support Program; she’s Joseph’s younger sister.

Before joining Wells of Hope, Agnes used to stay with her grandmother who used to strive to provide her with education but could not afford her school fees; as a result, Agnes used to skip school.

Agnes’ father was serving a long sentence at Luzira Upper prison.

ANTHONY KISAKYE

Anthony is a very outgoing, 13 year old boy at Wells of Hope Junior School. He respects his teachers and always wants to be in the lead. He enjoys playing football. In future, Anthony wants to become an engineer.

Before joining Wells of Hope, he used to stay with his maternal grandmother who had a number of children under her care. His mother remarried and abandoned him at his grandmother’s home. Anthony’s grandmother is so sickly that she cannot afford to provide good education to Anthony and her other grandchildren. Anthony’s father is serving a long sentence at Luzira Upper Prison.

ESTHER IKESA

Esther is a 16 year old girl at Wells of Hope; she is a humble and well behaved girl. She has eighteen siblings, one of her brothers James and one of her sisters Winnie are also under The Wells of Hope Care and Support Program. Her hobby is playing netball. She has just graduated from primary level to secondary level this year.

When her father was imprisoned, life changed at her home because her father was the sole provider; she dropped out of school and she lacked clothing. Esther and her siblings were rejected by their relatives and community. They would have one meal a day and sometimes they would go without food.

Esther’s father is on death row at Luzira Upper Prison. Her mother remarried. Before joining Wells of Hope, she had never visited her father and it was a joy for her when she visited her father. By sponsoring Esther, you will help her achieve her dream of becoming a bank manager in future.

HASSAN MATOVU

Hassan M

Hassan is a quiet 15 year old boy at Wells of Hope Junior School. He likes to play football and enjoys eating bananas and groundnuts.

Before joining Wells of Hope, Hassan used to stay with his mother who is a peasant farmer. Hassan had been skipping school because his mother could not afford school fees or money to buy him scholastic materials. While at home, they used to have one meal a day.

Hassan’s father is on death row at Luzira upper prison.

 JENIFER NAKANWAGI

Jenifer N

Jenifer is a pretty 11 year old girl at Wells of Hope Junior School. She is a bit shy, but is easy to get along with. She has two siblings and one of them, Juliet is under the Wells of Hope Care and Support Program. She’s the younger sister of Juliet. Jenifer’s favorite color is yellow and during her free time, she enjoys playing netball with her friends.

Before joining Wells of Hope, Jenifer used to stay with her mother in a one roomed house. Her mother earned a living through selling samosas, cassava and tomatoes. Her mother used to strive to provide for her family, but she could not afford money for Jenifer’s school fees while also paying rent for the house the family lives in. At the time Wells of Hope visited her, Jenifer’s mother had defaulted to pay rent for four months because the family which had offered to always contribute towards their rent had stopped.  Her father is serving a long sentence at Luzira Upper Prison.

Jenifer is an 8 year old girl at Wells of Hope Junior School. Her favorite color is green. Jenifer is the younger sister of Daniel who is also under the Wells of Hope Care and Support Program; and she is the last born in her family. Jenifer wants to become a nurse when she grows up.

Before joining Wells of Hope, Jenifer used to stay with her mother. When her father was imprisoned, her mother could not support her and her 5 siblings, with the little income she got from farming. Mary’s father is serving a long sentence in Kitalya Prison in Mityana district.

LUCKY AHIMBISIBWE

Lucky is a very active boy at Wells of Hope Junior School; he is 7 years old. He enjoys playing football with his friends. His favorite color is red and he wants to become a policeman in future. Lucky has two sisters, Lynette and Ritah who are under the Wells of Hope Care and Support Program.

Before joining Wells of Hope, Lucky used to stay with his grandmother who was his sole caregiver. She was a peasant farmer; and she used to struggle to educate her grandchildren. with the little income she earned, Lucky’s grandmother could not afford to pay school fees for her grandchildren. They lived in a deplorable state; they used to go without food, if they were lucky, it was one meal a day. Lucky’s mother abandoned him at his grandmother’s place. His father is serving 30 years at Luzira Upper prison.

LYNETTE TUSIGWIRE

Lynette is a humble, 10 year old girl at Wells of Hope Junior School. She enjoys helping her friends, no wonder she wants to become a nurse in future. Her favorite color is red. She is the eldest amongst her 2 siblings, Ritah and Lucky; who are also under the Wells of Hope Care and Support Program.

Before joining Wells of Hope, Lynette and her siblings used to stay with their grandmother who was a peasant farmer. With the little income the grandmother earned, she could not afford Lynette’s school fees. As a result, Lynette used to skip school. At the time Wells of Hope visited the family, Lynette’s hand had got burned as she was preparing a meal. All the children especially Lynette looked sad; their mother abandoned them before their father was imprisoned. They also had hunger problems, because in the past they had been affected by long spells of dry season, hence they lacked food. Lynette’s father is serving 30 years at Luzira Upper prison.

Onan is 9 years old and he loves playing football. His favorite dish is posho and beans; and his favorite color is black. He has four siblings and one of his sisters is with the Wells of Hope Care and Support Program.

Before joining Wells of Hope, he used to stay with his mother who is a peasant. She could not afford paying for all her children on her own because she did not have any support. She now has hope that Wells of Hope Ministries will help her son attain education and achieve his dreams.

Onan’s father is serving a long term sentence in prison.

Robert is a friendly 11 year old boy at Wells of Hope Junior School. He is very hard-working; his favorite subject is mathematics.

Before joining Wells of Hope, Robert stayed with his aunt who takes care of 13 other children, 8 of whom are hers while the rest are for other relatives. She is a casual laborer who digs other people’s plantations to support the family. Robert’s aunt strives a lot to provide for her family, but cannot afford money for Robert’s school fees. As a result, Robert used to skip school. His mother abandoned him and remarried. His father is serving a long sentence at Luzira Upper prison

Robin is 11 years old and so caring especially with helping her friends when they are sick; it’s no wonder she wants to become a doctor when she finishes school. Her favorite color is yellow and she enjoys playing dodge ball. She has a younger brother who is also with the Wells of Hope Care and Support Program.

Before joining Wells of Hope, she used to stay with her mother who was a peasant. Her studies were not well because of the challenge of school fees. She used to skip school because her mother could not afford her school fees.

Her father is an inmate convicted to a long term sentence. Robin was very excited to meet her father for the very first time because she had never seen him since she was born.

Before joining Wells of Hope, she used to stay with her grandmother because her mother left them to go stay with her own relatives upon the imprisonment of her father. Ronus’ grandmother used to struggle to look after her; she could not afford to cater for their education. Her father is an inmate convicted to a long term sentence in prison.

Susan is a passionate 12 year old girl who loves dancing and singing. Her favorite dish is beans and bananas and her favorite color is yellow. She has four siblings and one of them is under the Wells of Hope Care and Support Program. Susan doesn’t like sick people suffering in the hospital no wonder she wants to become a nurse in future; and she is determined to do it.

Before joining Wells of Hope, Susan used to stay with her mother who was her sole caregiver but she was unable to support them with Education because she did not have a sustaining job to look after them.

Susan’s father is serving a long term sentence in prison.

Sharifa is a humble and very outgoing16 year old girl at Wells of Hope Junior School. She has six siblings and one of them is under the care of Wells of Hope; she’s Hidadi’s younger sister. She enjoys singing and playing Netball.

Before joining Wells of Hope, she used to attend school irregularly because there were many children and her grandmother could not afford to take care of them since their father’s imprisonment. Sharifa is so thankful to the Lord that through Wells of Hope she was able to meet her father. The first time she met him, she could not recognize him because he was imprisoned when she was only two years old.

Her father is an inmate on Death Row at Luzira Upper Prison.

He hopes to become an entrepreneur in the future which is why he devotedly gives much attention to his studies. He is very friendly and loves to help those in need especially his friends at school. When his mother got imprisoned, Faisal’s father abandoned him; his whereabouts are unknown. After this, Faisal used to stay with his older brother, who could not afford to pay Faisal’s school fees; as a result, Faisal dropped out of school.

Before joining Wells of Hope, Sylvia used to stay with her mother who used to sew people’s clothes for a living. Sylvia’s mother used to strive to provide Sylvia with education but could not afford money for her school fees and money to buy her scholastic materials.

Sylvia’s father is an inmate at Luzira Upper prison. She had never visited her father since his imprisonment; she’s is grateful to Wells of Hope for reuniting her to him.
