Joseph and his siblings stay with their mother who struggles alone to make ends meet. When she tried to seek for support from her husband’s family they threatened to take the children from her. In order to survive she digs on plantations and washes clothes for people.

Joseph’s father was sentenced to 40 years in prison.

Jonathan

Jonathan is five years old in preprimary at Wells of Hope Junior School. He is a very smart  and intelligent boy. His favorite color is yellow and his favorite dish is rice with beef. He wants to be a doctor when he completes school. He has four siblings and one of his sisters, Leticia is under the care of Wells of Hope

Jonathan stays with his very old helpless grandmother in a muddy house without windows and doors. Before going to school they have to first go to the garden to help their grandmother otherwise they might miss food. Their mother passed on (3 years after the father was imprisoned) and their father is in prison serving 45 years

PRISCA NANGENDO

Prisca

Prisca is a very outgoing, intelligent and friendly 5 years old girl in preprimary. She loves playing with her friends and singing. Her best dish is rice and beef whereas pink is her favorite color. She has three siblings and her younger brother Joseph is also under the wells of hope care and support. Her dream is to become a lawyer.

Paul

Paul is a 5 year old boy who enjoys playing football and helping his fellow children at school.  His favorite color is blue whereas Irish potatoes are his best dish. He has two sisters and one of them Agnes is under the care and support of Wells of Hope. His dream after finishing school is to be policeman.

He stays with his mother who ploughs gardens for other people in the community in order to generate income for sustaining the family. Currently they are staying with a friend after their house was burnt down due to mob justice following the father’s crime.  His father is an inmate serving 45 years in prison.

RUTH NAMWANJE

Ruth

Ruth is a six year old girl at Wells of Hope. She loves singing and dancing; her best color is blue whereas sweet potatoes and beans are her favorite dish. She has four siblings and her brother Edison is under the care and support of Wells of Hope. She wants to be an air hostess after school.

After the imprisonment of their father his relatives forced them out of their father’s land claiming that they were cursed and that they don’t want to associate with them. Their mother became helpless because life became so hard that she couldn’t longer sustain their education as well as feed them. Before joining Wells of Hope she had dropped out of school because her mother couldn’t afford to cater for her school fees. Ruth’s father is serving 40 years in prison.

DIAN KYALIMPA

Dian

Dian is a very friendly and beautiful 6 year old girl under the care of Wells of Hope. She loves playing on swings and netball .Her best color is green whereas rice and beef is her favorite dish. She has 7 siblings and her elder sister Lydia is under the care and support of Wells of Hope. Her dream is to become a social worker after school.

After the imprisonment of her dad, her mum became helpless with time and decided to take Dian and her two siblings to their grandmother. This really affected Dian because they were a happy family. Her grandmother is 75 years of age; she is weak and too sickly to help them.

Her father is serving 15 years in prison.

Leticia is a beautiful 6 year old girl at Wells of Hope. She enjoys playing dodge ball and dancing. Rice, plantains and ground nuts are her favorite food. Her favorite color is yellow. She is Jonathan’s older sister. She wants to become a teacher when she completes school.

LUCKY AHIMBISIBWE

Lucky is a very active boy at Wells of Hope Junior School; he is 7 years old. He enjoys playing football with his friends. His favorite color is red and he wants to become a policeman in future. Lucky has two sisters, Lynette and Ritah who are under the Wells of Hope Care and Support Program.

Before joining Wells of Hope, Lucky used to stay with his grandmother who was his sole caregiver. She was a peasant farmer; and she used to struggle to educate her grandchildren. with the little income she earned, Lucky’s grandmother could not afford to pay school fees for her grandchildren. They lived in a deplorable state; they used to go without food, if they were lucky, it was one meal a day. Lucky’s mother abandoned him at his grandmother’s place. His father is serving 30 years at Luzira Upper prison.

Edison is a very social 7 year old boy who loves playing football. His favorite food is Rice and beans whereas blue is his best color. He has four siblings he’s elder sister Ruth is also under the care of Wells of Hope .He’s wants to become a teacher in the future.

He stays with his mother who struggles to make ends meet through digging community lands for sustainability. HENRY OBED KAKOZI

Henry

Henry is a humble and very active 7 year old boy. He loves singing in church and playing football. His favorite color is purple whereas sweet potatoes and beans are his best dish. He wants to become an instrumentalist in the future, by sponsoring him you will enable him attain his future dream. He is the youngest among his 8 siblings.

Henry stays with his 83 year grandmother who went through great tension due to he’s father crime. She is too traumatized and weak to care for Henry. Henry’s mother passed on when he was one week old living him with his father who was imprisoned a year after.

Henry has no hope of ever staying with his father because he was sentenced to life imprisonment.

Lynette is a humble, 10 year old girl at Wells of Hope Junior School. She enjoys helping her friends, no wonder she wants to become a nurse in future. Her favorite color is red. She is the eldest amongst her 2 siblings, Ritah and Lucky; who are also under the Wells of Hope Care and Support Program.

Before joining Wells of Hope, Lynette and her siblings used to stay with their grandmother who was a peasant farmer. With the little income the grandmother earned, she could not afford Lynette’s school fees. As a result, Lynette used to skip school. At the time Wells of Hope visited the family, Lynette’s hand had got burned as she was preparing a meal. All the children especially Lynette looked sad; their mother abandoned them before their father was imprisoned. They also had hunger problems, because in the past they had been affected by long spells of dry season, hence they lacked food. Lynette’s father is serving 30 years at Luzira Upper prison.

Agnes is a pretty 10 year old girl who loves smiling, singing and dancing. Her favorite dish is Plantains with groundnuts and her favorite color is red, her hobby is singing whereas purple is her best color. She has two younger brothers and one of them Paul is under the Wells of Hope Care and Support program. Her dream is to become a nurse after school.

Her mother ploughs gardens for people in their community in order to earn a living for them. Currently they are staying with a friend after their house was burnt down due to mob justice following their father’s crime. Sometimes they go without food and they have no form of bedding. Her father was sentenced to 45 years in prison.

Before joining Wells of Hope, Sarah was staying happily with her Mom and dad. However immediately after the death of her father her mom was imprisoned. When her mom was imprisoned she remained under the care of her older sister Joyce who is also a minor. Life was very difficult for them

Her mother is serving a very long term sentence in prison

Susan is a passionate 12 year old girl who loves dancing and singing. Her favorite dish is beans and bananas and her favorite color is yellow. She has four siblings and one of them is under the Wells of Hope Care and Support Program. Susan doesn’t like sick people suffering in the hospital no wonder she wants to become a nurse in future; and she is determined to do it.

Before joining Wells of Hope, Susan used to stay with her mother who was her sole caregiver but she was unable to support them with Education because she did not have a sustaining job to look after them.

Susan’s father is serving a long term sentence in prison.

Before joining Wells of Hope, Hassan used to stay with his mother who is a peasant farmer. Hassan had been skipping school because his mother could not afford school fees or money to buy him scholastic materials. While at home, they used to have one meal a day.

Hassan’s father is on death row at Luzira upper prison.

Sharifa is a humble and very outgoing 16 year old girl at Wells of Hope Junior School. She has six siblings and one of them is under the care of Wells of Hope; she’s Hidadi’s younger sister. She enjoys singing and playing Netball.

Before joining Wells of Hope, she used to attend school irregularly because there were many children and her grandmother could not afford to take care of them since their father’s imprisonment. Sharifa is so thankful to the Lord that through Wells of Hope she was able to meet her father. The first time she met him, she could not recognize him because he was imprisoned when she was only two years old.

Her father is an inmate on Death Row at Luzira Upper Prison.

Faizo is a jolly, 19 year old boy at Wells of Hope High School. He enjoys playing football. He hopes to become an entrepreneur in the future which is why he devotedly gives much attention to his studies. He is very friendly and loves to help those in need especially his friends at school. His mother is an inmate at Luzira Women prison.

When his mother got imprisoned, Faizo’s father abandoned him; his whereabouts are unknown. After this, Faizo used to stay with his older brother, who could not afford to pay Faizo’s school fees; as a result, Faizo dropped out of school.
